Founded in 2007 by Mike Lucey, a former MEDITECH and McKesson sales executive whose career included helping bring the Paragon EHR platform to community hospitals. The chronic struggle of implementing these systems at community hospitals became the motivation to start CHA. The consulting industry was built to serve large health systems. Community hospitals were getting leftover attention.
CHA was built to change that. From day one, the firm has focused exclusively on community, critical access, and rural hospitals. Not as a niche within a larger practice — as the entire practice.
What started as deep Paragon expertise has grown into a full-service technology partnership spanning Epic, Oracle, MEDITECH, and an extensive list of ambulatory platforms — covering EHR selection, implementation, legacy archiving, and now grant funding for rural health transformation. Along the way, CHA developed proprietary tools — the CHA Viewer and the Data Migration Workspace — that set it apart from pure consulting firms.
